She was a member of the Durham X-L's cross-country team which came home with four first- and one second-place team titles. X-L's took first in mite, tyke, and atom boys and tyke girls, aad second place in mite girls. In the tyke boys, Luke Bainard ot Pringle Creek finished 8th, Nîck Wray of F.M. Heard took l4th, 'Randy Davidson from Kathleen Rowe finished l8th, and Christopher .Coleby of Robert Thorri-nnr was in 29th place. The teani battled back with wins over Ajax and Markham, and an exciting victory over Peterborough last Saturday. In last Saturday's game àgainst Peterborough, Whitby had fallen behind 3-0 early in the first period but got back in the game with goals by Vince Soleto and Brent Knowles. Peterborough jumped ahead late in the second making it 4-2 but Whitby countered in the third with goals from Mike Bol- ton and Dan Niemi. Niemi's goal came durîng a tremendous surge with 37 second left in the game to knot it up at 4-4. 2Of 3 for petiotes In eThiibition play on Oct. 22 at. Iroquois Park, the Whitby petite AA ringette team skated to a 19-9 win over Oshawa AA. Goals for Whitby were scored byAndrea Babony and Sharloyn Wuters with six apiece, Jenni- fer Drummond had three, Jenni- fer Henry and Crystal Annis each put in two. In a game on Oct. 28, Whitby lost to Markham 11-6. Scoring Shut mit In girls' ringette at Iroquois arena on Oct. 20, the Whitby tween C team slammed Pieker- irg with a 8-0 shutout. S oring for Whitby with two apiece were Carol Jamieson, Natasha Carter and Erica Giles, singles by Andrea Murray and Kim Nathers. Whitby beat Ajax 10-4 at home on Oct. 29. Whitby saw action against Stratford in Brooklin on Oct. 29 which resulted in a 17-1 burial in favor of Whitby.
