Starting Oct. 12, residents of Scugog, Uxbridge and Brock pick up specially-manufactured degradable plastic composting bags at their town halls and use the bags for fali leaf collection. Bagged leaves will either be dropped at Scugog transfer station or at the project's controlled composting site located in Brock. 'Ve have high expectations for this project," said Gary Herrema, regional chairman for Durham. Obituar y ANNIE STANLTCK Annie Margaret Stanlick of Whitby died on Tuesday, October 10, 1989, at Oshawa General Hospeital. She was 88. Se was born in Toronto on April 21, 1901, daughter of John and Alice ( Humph ries) Nicol. She worked at Robert Simpsons Co. in Toronto before marrying Arthur Earl Stan]ick on Novem- ber 26, 1919. Mrs. Stanliek was a resident of Whitby for 68 years, and owned a restaurant in WIhitby for eight years. She worked at D.T.L. in Ajax for two years. She was a charter member of the Whitby Legion Branch 112 Ladies Auxiliary, a member of St. Mark's United Church, and member of the Daughters of Eng- land. She is survived by ber daugliter Margaret and son-in- law Donald Kennelly, and brother Roy Nicol of Oshawa. She was predeceased by her husband, sisters Agnes, Alice and Martha (Mrs. Mattie) and brothers John, Tom, William, George Ernie and Frank. The #uneral was held from the W.C.
