Bail, interested in, dollmaking from a very young age, .only began her collection four years ago. She chose a Victorian theme as hier preferred "statement of fashion" for her dolîs. Since she began ber collection, Bail has made 20 doils. Fifteen are on display as some have been given as gifts and some sold, ranging in price from $35 to $75. "She was very generous with bier advice to me," B ail says. Vair, currently a resident of Barrie, is well known for native people dolîs which have sold for up to $1,000. Ball's collection is the resuit of ber interest in the hobby. Howe- ver, she says that heing able to devote her time to ber dolîs is a dream corne true. Althougb Bail has until now used materials such as clotb, felt and some clay to make dolîs, she bas just started work on a woo- den doli. This is representative of ber first love, furniture refinishin g. "It was enjoyable but my dolis are more satisfying," sbe says. Her hope and goal for the future is to start a business. "I would like to start an antique doîl/tea room, called Ball's Em orium," she says with a s;mi le.
