Sandy Ryrie Durham Regional Polie Crime Stoppers and the Durham Regional Police are asking for the public's help to solve an abduction which occurred on Westney Rd. just south of Greenwood (Town of Pickering) on Aug. 30. Just after 8 a.m. a woman was driving southbound just south of town when she saw a man standing on the west shoulder of the roadway and a car parked on the other side. ThinIng it was a motorist needing help, she pulled over and stopped beside him. She un]ocked the passenger door and he got in. She asked him if it was his car and he said it wasn't, and' that he was only going down the road. As she started to drive he pulled a knife on her. She started, screaming and stopped the car but he grabbed her arm. and ordered her to continue driving. He told her to turn towards the ,conservation area Where he ordered ber to stop. -A struggle eiisued but she managed to drive away. He ran into the bush and disappeared. The wanted man is described as a white male, early 30s, 5e8" stocky build, short sandy-colored hair combed towards the front. Hie had a pock-mnarked face. He was wearing brown pants, a beige striped shirt and black boots. Hie was carrying a knife with a brown handie. He also had bad body odor.
