"It was on our minds and we talked about it but we really wanted to play a good, solid ý alhe," said seven-year veteran erek Keenan, who is aipproach- ing top form afte'r recentiy rejoin- ing the team. Keenan said the atmosphere in the clubhouse was "relief' that the record had been broken. "A lot of guys on the teami have a genuine fear of losing which can help when you are in a close game,» said Keenan. After the game the team had a meeting with management. No one thought the Peterborough record could be broken," said Keenan. Redmen showed why they are the class of the major/senior league on this night with their strong offensive output and strict dofensive discipline. Scoring machine Gary Gait, who is leading the league, had four goals and four assists on the night. .Kevin Van Sickle and Brian Nikula each had three goals with Jerry Fitzgerald, Mike Magee and John Fusco scoring two each. Gary Gait, 22-year-old member Of the Brooklin Redmen, is lead- ing the league in scoring witb 84 points in only 12 games. But Gait gives credit to bis teammates for bis fast start in this, his rookie year. "If you don't pla% with other good players, it makes it impos- sible to be doing wbat inm doing," said Gait during an interview before Redmen played Owen Sound last Tbursday. Redmen won the game 23-9 and established a Canadian lacrosse record of 76 regular sea- son ames without a loss.
