Brumley, of Whitby, won the 100-metre sprint and triple jump, was second in 100m and third in javelin for bantamn boys. lie competes as a member of the Durham X-Ls Track and Field club. Bacchiochi, who previously captured the Ontario high school championship for midget-age boys in hurdles, wVon the high jump and was second in long jump in the Appleton event. Other Witby members of the Durham X-Ls who had top finishes were: Steve McCardle, third in 200m for midget boys; Roxanne Woodley, fourth in 200m and sixth in long jump for atom girls; Ryan Williams, sixth in 200m; Adrian Woodley, eighth in 100m. Six Whitby members of the Durham X-Ls advanced to the provincial championships July 15 - after finishing either first or second in a recent competition in Belleville. Bacchiochi won the 100m hur- dles for bantams; Brumley was secondîn 100m, 200m and 100m hurdies for bantams; Gabriel Shiu was second in long jump for bantams; Jennifer Cooper was second in 1,500m and 3,000m for midget girls; McCardle first in 400m for midget boys; Dennis Smith second in 100m. Three Whitby members of the Durham club had first place finishes in the mite-tyke-atom championships at Civic Stadium, Oshawa, June 17. Dwayne Lucas was first in tyke 100m, Mark Anthony first in atom high jump, Veronica Dyer first in 100!hn and 200m for atom girls. Dyer was also second in long jump. Jared McCord was second in atom boys 400m. Tetrathion involves four separate competitions - riding distance, running, shooting and swimming. Accumulated points determine pstion. 0f 28 M ers in the novice girls class, Evanshen was first in run- ning, filfth in shooting and eighth in swimming. Fourth overaîl was another Durham team member, Trina Jabusch, who was second in swimming, fifth in running and sixth in shooting. Evanshen and Jabusch helped Durham to a second-place team finish overail. For junior boys, Keith Rleid was third overaîl. He was first in swimming, second in running, third in riding and fiflh in shoot- ing. The Durham Pony Club was third overaîl in t he Central Ontario regional quiz held April 29. Bobbi Lehman of Brooklin, a member of the club, will compete in a national quiz in Nova Scotia in the faîl. REPRESENTING CANADA Vicki Robinson of Brooklin, also a club rnember, will compete in tje international Prince Philip Games in Ireland in August. She is one of flive Canadians repre- senting the Mounted Association of Canada. And another member, Donna Brewer of Scarborougrh, was fourth overaîl in senior competi- tion for Central Ontario. She will compete in the national tetrath- Ion in Ottawa in August.
