The subject property is located on the west side of Garden Street, north of Rossland Road, Part of Lot 25, Concession 3, as shown on the sketch below. The purpose of the application is to rezone the property in conformity to both the Rossland/Garden Main Central Area Secondary Plan approved in 1985, and the Durham Heights Urban Design Plan approved by Council in September 1985. The three zone categories proposed are: Central Area Commercial/Retail, Central Area Commercial/Office; and Central Area Residential. Depending on the zone category, permitted uses would include retail and personal service uses, professional, corporate and business office buildings, institutional uses, community recreational uses and a hotel. The purpose of this meeting is to provide adequate information to the public and to permit interested persons the opportunity to make representation in respect of the rezoning application. The third in a series of meetings on this matter, this meeting shall serve as the legislatively required preliminary public information meeting. A draft zoning by-law amendment is expected to be brought forward at a future date.
