Santa Claus parade on Dec. 3 By Feroneh Neil On Saturday Dec. 3 Whitby's 35th annual Santa Claus parade will be held. The Whitby Jaycees have managed to book some very interesting participants for this year's parade. These include seven bands, two world class skateboarders, clowns, fun cars and community floats. IFINISH WHITBY INFO7RMAT ION CENTRE Jaycees, said about a thousand people viewed the parade last year, and Jaycees expect more this year. The parade will start at about 10 a.m. at Cochrane St., head east on Dundas St. W., and then down Brock St. S. to Centennial Park. Refreshments will be offered to the participants at the end, before awards are handed out for the different categories to be judged. "The public appears to be very enthusiastic about it. There were about 80 entries last year and it looks like we are going to match that this year." Santa Claus will visit Fairview Lodge residents after the parade. For children who want to send letters to Santa, carriers will pick up their letters along the parade route. They should be addressed to: Santa Claus, North Pole, Canada, HOH OHO. No postage is needed and replies will be returned. Parade entry forms have been sent out to those who participated last year.
