Cox felt that "the incumbent always has the advantage, and being chairman for several yeare also helps." Hughes was "very elated that I finally have the opportunity to be truly elected by my fellow residents. I look forward te dealing with equal billing, development and implementation of substatione," he said. Hughes felt that there should have been more interest in the municipal election because of the mayoral race. "This je the grassroots of our country and our eociety." Lawler said he was "very happy, but at suppertime he had butterfiies in hie stomach. "1 am a longtime resident of Whitby, come from a com- munîty-minded family and was involved with the boy scouts," Lawler said, giving what he thought was the reasons for hie re-election. Bob Cawker was unavailable for comment. Commission members will hold their firet meeting on Dec. 2 to discuss the budget and work on establishing rates for the next vear. Lottario winner Adalbert Potzkai of Wliitby won $10,900 in the Oct. 29 Lottario draw. Potzkai was a second prize winner.
