AUGUT 17, 1988, PAGE 17 Wright lst h high jump hi Etobicoke Darryl Wright of West Lynde public school had a first-place finish and other young Whitby competitors helped the Durham X-Ls win the overail club championship in the Interna- tional Youth Meet of Champions held in Etobicoke Aug. 5, 6 and 7. More than 1,500. athietes from Canada, the U.S. -and Europe took part, including 54 from the Durham club which became the first Canadian club to win a championship, with 322 points. Runner-up this year was the the Steel City Striders from Fort Wayne, Indiana, with 251 points. Wright won the atom high jump. Kis Brockman also had a flrst as a member of the tyke relay team, and was second in tyke long jump. Jason Brumley was second in bantam long jump and hurdies, and seventh in 100 meters. He was also a part of the sixth-place relay team. Jason Bacchiochi was third in bantam 80-metre hurdles. Rox- anne Woodley was fourth in tyke Kils Johnson was third in bantam triple jump. Mark Vanderlip was a member of the fourth-place atom relay team and Matt Davis part of the sixth-place bantgmii relay team. Next year's international youth meet will be held in Louisville, Kentucky.
