Canada had defeated Australia 12-11 and England 13-12 and lost 16-11 to the. U.S., in games leading to the final. Jef McComb from the junior A box lacrosse Warriors, one of five attackers on the Canadian team, scored three goals in the win over Australia and had two. goals against England. McComb and fellow Warriors Rich Dyment of Whitby and Kevin Hayes of Ajax, each scored a goal in the first loss to the U.S. Also on the Canadlian teain from the Warriors was Dan McComb. 'We did well," s'aid Junior Field Lacrosse League convener Gord Paterson, who, from Scarborough, relayed resuits of the world championships to The Free Press.
