The Brooklin Redmen -tykes began the weekend defeating 'Kit- chener 11-5 and then Toronto Beaches 11-1 in round-robin play, theni losing to Peterborough 13-1. The score was just as one-sided in the tyke final -as. Whitby lost to Peterborough. 11-1. Darryl Lewis got the lone Whitby marker. Scoring during the tournament for tvkes were Darrvl Lewis. 13 : Brian Vincent, 3; Blake Gaza, 2; Paul Gray, 1; Jamie Wager, 1; Mike Melver, 1;- Ken Belanger, 1; and Chris Kerr, 1. The Whitby-Brooklin, Kinsmen novices -also were runners-up to Peterborough losing in the final 10- 4. Steve Voith had three goals for Whitby while Bryan Power had one. *Whitby defeated Kitchener and Toronto Beaches in round robin play but lost to Peterborough 10-4. Goal scorers dùring the tour- nament were Br3ran Powers, 3; Gee Nash, ?; Derek Wright, 3; Steve Hodinsre, 2; Pat Jones, 2; Gavin Prout, 1; Derek Gillespie, 1; David Stabite, 1 and Mike Deblois, 1. It was a much dloser game in the peewee final, but again Whitby was on the losing end to Peterborough 6- 5. Wayne Primeau had four goals for Whitby while Shaydon Santos had one. Whitby tied Peterborough 6-6 during round-robin play but couldn't repeat their performance in the finals. Whitby also defeated Kitchener 7- 6 and Brampton 9-4 in round-robin, play. Scoring during the tournament for Whitby were Scott MacDonneil, 6; Shaydon Santos, 4; SteveTaylot, 2; Jason Crosbie, 3; Wayne Primeau, 3; Mike Massey, 1; Michael Wye, 1 and Jeff Yoo, 1. In the bantam division, Checkers Variety lost ail three of their games in round-robin play whlle the midgets lost to Kitchener and Owen Sound in round robin but beat Peterborough 8-6. The Whitby paperweights finished second overaîl in the Scar- borough Peanuts tournament held on the weekend. In their first game, the paper- weights defeated Scarborough 11-5. Blais Lawson' had four 'goals, Joshua Brimble had three and Ian Cutherston scored two while singles went to Casey Dupont, and Ashton Smith. In their second game, Whitby trailed 3-2 with two minutes remaining when Casey Dupent got bis second goal of the game to tie the score anld Blais Lawson netted a single to put Whitby ahead by a 4-3 count. <Whitby then lost their third game to Hamilton 9-1 but rebounded, to beat Sparton 7-4. Blaise Damn had the hat-trick whlle singles went to- Casey Dupont, Biais Lawsone, Nicholas Owen and Michael Gallos. Mixed bag of tricks Whitby rep lacrosse teams had mixed results -in a recent tour- nament in Peterborough. The tykes lost to Hamilton 13-3, Brampton 8-6 and Peterborough 14- 2. Weedman peewees beat Hamilton 6-4 and Peterborough 14-5 before losing in the semi-final to Peterborough 8-3. Shaydon Santos and Scott MacDonnell each had five goals. Matt Shearer and Kelly Vipond each had three goals., Whitby midgets defeated Mimico 11-3 and lost to Hamilton 10-5 and Burlington 11-3 in the semi-finals. Chris Tucker had eight goals and Adam Foote, four, for Whitby. Checkers Variety bantams, in the Spartan tourniament, defeated Spartan 16-5, lost to Beaches 8-4 and Hamilton 17-2. John Emm had four goals, Matt Chearer three and Ann Windover and Sandy Crawford two each. Tidbi't s .Whitby Iaèrosse teams went un- defeated in lbague play Iast week, with the tykes leading the way in an exhibition game. With Chuck Cols getting the shutout, the tykes defeated Orilia 21-0. Darryl Lewis had seven goals whlle Jamie Wager and Paul Gray had four goals each. Doubles went to Brian Venent and Chris Kerr with Ken Belanger and Kurt Kirner adding singles.
