Free Press photo for summer Two local businesses have teamed up for the summer to provide a "fun service" for children. Barb Harris, owner of the "The Book Between" in downtown Whit- by, invited Chris Stevenson to display items from her Kid's Play Supplies. Stevenson had operated her business from her Henry St. home. She sells educational games and toys and art supplies. "This is a new venture for us," said Harris, who has operated her store for seven years. . The two merchants say the set-up will offer "the best of the new and the best of the old" to entertain children over the summer months. Stevenson's philosophy behind her store is "Our playing is our learning, our learning is our playing" and she has collected stimulating durable toys and games that encourage use of a child's imagination. She says, for example, that once a child masters the art behind' a solar-powered cardboard kite, the child can later design or build a vehicle made of "junk box con- struction materials." F. !
