L1G 4B7 A charitable organization wants to twin Durham Region with an African community to assist in ef- forts to make the community self- supporting. "We're not here to ask for money," said Tim Doble of the Mensah Food and Orphanage Fund before regional council last week. He said the Region's role would be to publicize the project to assist in fundraising from local church groups, service groups and cor- porations. Doble said the federal gover- nment would match any funds raised in Durham Region. Mensah hopes to raise $50,000 to $60,000 for Janga in north Ghana. "We hope it will become self- sustained... It's not an open-ended thing you just throw money bags at," he said. Doble said "community in- volvement" is the solution rather than large projects that are only "short-term and spotty." Members of Mensah, with fun- ding, will provide tools and Medical equipment for Janga. There are i NOTICE TO CREDITORS AND OTHERS IN THE MATTER OF THE ESTATE OF CARRIE ODESSA BLACK, DECEASED.
