LETTER A happy'story To the Editor With ail the saturation of gloom and doom - news fiiled with horror and violence - I feit I should share a brighter experience that 1 recen- tly had. My car suddenly decided to sit anglewise in the right hand turn lane at the corner of Mary St. W. and Brock St. N. It refused to budge. While 1 stood on an icy streetin the bitter cold weather that day, HAPPY1 NEW YEAR Affleck, Sosna, Shauglinessy & Scott directing traffic, a young man drivinig a Circle Taxi cab stopped and asked if I wanted a tow truck. He advised me to stay with my car whule lie went ahead to phone for ea truck 1 1I waited but the freezing temperature prompted me to leave the car. I crossed the street to the pharmacy where the courteous young ladies SUggested that I stay to keep warmn. one young lady made a couple of pnone cais for me to find out about the tow truck. Eventuaily the tow truck arrived -and- the driver cheerfully hit- ched up my- car. He, suggested that II accom- pany him to the repair shop. From th ere, lie also gave me a ride back home. My point is, 1 met three young people who were courteous and very helpful to me - an older person. They really had nothing to gain, but I'd like to tell their employers they have terrific young ezn- ployees. Joan E. Mace Whitby Di
