In the first game Whitby defeated Rich- mond Hil11 5-2. Paul Dillon scored two goals with the other three goals coming from An- dre Marois, Jeff Mon- taigueand Mat Muir. Assisting on the goals were Tim Chai, Wayne Primeau and Paul Brooks. Goaltender Jamie Hogel came up with some key saves. Last Sunday, Whitby, travelled to Peter- borough for two games. In the first game, Whit- by came out flat and lost &-1. The sole Whitby goal was scored by Marois, assisted by defenceman Craig Talent. In their second game ini Peterborough, Whit- by camneback flying and earned a 4-O victory. Goaltender Stephen St. Amand, who gained bis first shutout this, season, was outstanding in net. The entire Whitby team was excellent of- fensively and defen- sively. Dillon and Primeau scored two goals each with Derek Young and Jim Brown, earning assists. Dillon also had an assist. Whitby's fourth away game was la Pickering where Whthv rame nut with a 3-1 victory. Scoring for Whitby were Primeau, Muir, Marois. Muir also picked up two assista and Brown got the other. Andrea Babony scored four goals while Stephanie Nichols and Kathy Stackhouse each had three ina 16-O Whit- by winover Port Pea-ry. Crystal Minis had two goals while Julie Rowland, Catie Challoner, Andrea Murray and Megan NeWly had single goals. Nichols scored twice while Rowland and Stackhouse had singles ln a4-2 win over Ajax. Babony scored three times whlle Rowland had two goals ln a 10-7 win over Oshawa. After winning their division three games straight with wins over Unionville, 2-1, East York 6-O and Hamilton 4-2, they advanced to the semi-finals and again were victorious defeating Niagara Falls 6-3 to advance to the finals with Burlington. After a hard-fought battle, Whitby lost 5-1 to capture the runner-up trophy. Their success was the resuit of total team ef- fort. S coring were Jeff Cave with, a goal and four assista; Justin Cardwell, two goals, four assista; Derek Ellis, four goals, four assista; Rob. Martin, four goals, three assista;, John Emm, one goal, two assista; Clarke Trolley, three goals, one assist;. Mfar- tin David, two goals, one assist; Mike Bolton, one goal, five assista; Joôhn Catto, one goal, two assista; John Malcolm, two assista; David Wood, one assist., Brad Thomson and Greg Fawcdtt also tur- ned in strong perfor- mances.
