CRIME STOPPERS By SGT. S. RYRIE Durham Co-ordinator Crime Stoppers and the Durham Regional Police are asking for the public's assistance in solving an arson which occurred in Oshawa on July 25 this year. : Between 12:30 and 12:55 a.m. a home at 284 Surrey D'. which is on the north-west corner of. Surrey Dr. and Adelaide Ave. was broken into. Fires were set in three separate areas causing damage to the house and contents which is valued at $50,000. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 to anyone providing in- formation which leads to an arrest. Similar amounts will be paid for tips leading to an arrest in any serious crime. Callers do not have to give their names or testify in court. The Crime Stoppers numbers are: 1-800-387- 8477, toll free for all calls, or 222-8477, local to Toronto. A Citizen Board ad- ministers the Crime Stoppers Programs of which there are now over 600 in North America. Home ransacked Vandals ransacked a home at 88 Muir Cres. in Whitby on Monday, Oc- tober 6 causing $2,000 damage. Police said all the glass articles were smashed which included mirrors and light fix- tures.
