"I expeet the sertes to be a long one, their a very good team,"' said Redmen coach Peter Vipond before attending ,a practice on Monday niglit. And while Vipond said both teams are capable of putting many goals on the scoreboard, he ex- pecta the games to be low scoring. "The gaines will be tiglit and low scoring. I expect 8-7 scores, something like that."' One of the reasons for the low scoring contests, is the outstanding goaltenders on both teams, said Vipond. Vipond wilI be relying on Redmen goaltender Wayne Colley to have a bigseries. Another reason for the' 10w scoring and long series will be the absen- ce of captain Gil Nieuwendyk and Derek Keenan. Nieuwendyk will miss the first gamne of the series because lie is now on bis honeymoon and Keenan, who netted il goals in the last three gaines against Peter- borough will miss the first two games, having to attend school in New York. To compensate for the loss of two of lis offen- sive players, Vipond said the Redmen will have to check the Westminster team very closely. Another player who may miss action is Kevin Van Sickle who received a cut to his finger during the Peter- borough series. Vipond said a decision on letting Van Sickle play was to be made Monday or Tuesday night. 'mr sure they have revenge on their minds. Last year we came back froin a 3-0 game deficit and took the champion- ship 4-3. This series will probably corne down to breaks. But in the first two games we will have to play extra good on defense and check players who are bigger than us."
