PAGE 20,.WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 1.3. 1986. WIIITBY FREE PRESS Oshawa, soccer club tics Shoppers Drug Mart Oshawa Soccer Club and Oshawa Turul Shoppers Drug Mart finished up their July 30 match in a 2-2 tie. The very wet and slop- py conditions and with the game being played on a narrower and shor- ter field certainly benefitted the older and stronger -soccer club DIT OW Th Famn teamn and did not suit the younger Shoppers Drug Mart. Despite the play being even in the first haîf Shoppers found them- selves two goals behînd after only 18 minutes but they fought back and prior to the break Vince Accardi put Shoppers on the scoreboard. In the second, par- ticularly near the end of the game, Shoppers dominated on most oc- casions but they couldn't penetrate a packed Oshawa Soccer Club goal area. Shop- pers did get the tying goal when Mark Halliday 'latched on' to a Neil Henehan pass to blast the baIl into the Soccer Club net. Shoppers will now be without the services of Jason Meiklejohn (cap- tain for the above game> who has gone back to Scotland where he, once again, will be playing for the Glasgow Rangers Boys Club (un- der 13s). -'Ak BSAY'VEARE ENR (Govemment Llcensed / Goverment Approved) NURFSERY SCHOOL /2 For Children 2 to 5 Years Old Presents OPEN HOUSE '86 DATE: Thurs., August 14/86 TIME: 7p.m. -l10p.m. ADDRESS: 309 Beeoh St. W.
