Included in the tour was-the collection of doils in period costume spanning some 140 years of Canadian history. The collection, on boan from, the Oakville. museums, will be at Lynde House for several more weeks after which Dr. Rowley is planning a quilt exhibition. "Vie are very strongly opposed and that type of establishment is very detrimental to our effor- ts, " said Buffett. He charged tbat the people wbo own and operate out of tbe market do not live or work in tbe community, "they just take tbe money and run. " He said tbat during bis deputation be would ask town council to do everytbing i it's power to close the market and cailed tbe people operating from it "notbing more than peddiers. " The town bas already gone on record as saying it is opposed to tbe market and Mayor Bob Attersley bas in- dicated be will do everytbing in bis power to oppose the operation. Buffett said tbere la still tbe question of wbetber the market is a permitted use for the location, but vowed that if council is not witbin its power to close it, he wili ask other businesses to boycott the establisbment. He said tbat sboppers can buy things tbey can buy in tbe downtown ares and while the people operating out of the market contribute notbing to the town and are takers, many of the downtown mercbants bave put an investmeat in tbe community and eitber own or invest money into upgrading their stores.
