Council has decided to take a wait and see at- titude as to the hours of operation of the market and whether or not they are in a legal right to close the operation, but councillors have made it publically known they are opposed to the operation. 'II arn opposed to this type of operation," said Mayor Attersley. He said the market would effectively "rob our own downtown business" and he Would do everything in his power to oppose it. Councillor Edwards took a similar stand saying 'II don't want to see this type of operation open under any circumstances and especially as a flea market on Sunday." Councillor Gerry Emm, expressed con- cern as to whether council can control the size of the operation on- ce people start atten- ding the market. No matter what coun- cillors opinions are, Counillor Joe Drumm summed up councils feelings saying, "we can only react to whatever he does.
