Earlier in the school year, the student body was informed that Sister Mary Goulet would be leaving ber position as principal of DO'C for another job in Pembroke, Ontario. Sister Mary came ta DO'C in September of 1980 and since then she bas given the school a great deal of ber time and ber love. We will al miss ber. Befare the holidays, we welcomed Mr. Tom Fitzsimmons, formerly vice-principal at DO'C, as our new principal. Our best wishes are with Mr. Fit- zsimmons. The final preparations for the Horseshae Valley skiing trip are being made. Over two busloads of students and teachers will be testing tbeiiskiing skills on the slopes on the evening of Friday, Jan. 31. The junior and senior girls volleyball teams hosted their first season games against Pickering High Schoal last Tuesday. The juniors lost their first three sets while the seniors lost their first, won their second and, unfortunately, lost their third game in overtimne 17-15. Hapefully as the season progresses so will aur ladies' teams. Good luck next week! In basketball, action against Port Perry last week, the junior boys team came away un- defeated in their best game of the seasan. Their score was 50-40 and high scorers were Adam Bertoia and An- thony Livingston with 14 and 12 points respec- tively. The midgets couldn't keep up with their coun- terparts and lost ta Part Perry 39-37. Their high scorers were Sean Vegter and Tom Cook witb 15 and 8 points.
