WIHITBY FREE PRESS, WEDNESDAY, JULY 10, 1985, PAGE 31 Country music legends to give concert at Iroquois Park seres "Mcal's outry muîc an Midltons loosIrL Local country music fans are in for a real treat next week when Wilf Carter and "The Queen of Country Music" - Kitty Wells ap- pear in concert at the Iroquois Park Arena. The July 18 concert will also feature Johnny Wright of the legendary "Johnny and Jack Duo" and Bobby Wright who is familiar to many as a regular on the old American comedy TV series "McHale's Navy". They will per- form with the band, the Tennessee Mountain Boys. Also scheduled to ap- pear is Joe Aylward and his band, the Yelverton Express who are gaining in popularity in Canada. Wilf Carter is a unique country singer. At 80 years of age he's still doing what he does best - entertain legions of country music fans although he has an- nounced that this will be his last tour through this part of the country. Kitty Wells has long held the title "Queen of Country Music" and was elected to the Coun- try Music Hall of Fame in 1976. The concert will begin at 8 p.m. Advance tickets are $10 each and available from the Iroquois Park Arena, Middleton's Bookstore, Dundas St. W. and from Sam the Record Man in the Oshawa Centre.
