Joseph E. Sanderson, was a prin- cipal supporter ln the establishment of the On- tario Ladies Colege <now Trafalgar Castie School) n 1874. In 1876, the church was closed when the Methodlsts completed their new, much larger Tabernacle (now St. Mark's United Church). Architectural The former Methodîst Church was orîginally bulît n a simple Greek Revîval style. It was converted ta resîdential purposes ln 1877. At that time, many late-Victorlar' details were added such as bay win- dows, carved brackets and decorative wooden porches. The juxtaposition of the two styles has produced a unique and Interestîng architectural composite.
