PRE-SCHOOL STORY The Whitby Public Library will hold its summer session of its pre-school story hour from 10:3Oto 11:30 a.m. This program is for children aged 3 to 5 Who are not going to school. HERITAGE BALL The Whitby Historical Society will hold their annual 'Whitby Heritage Bail" on June 22 in the Regal Room of the Centennial Building, 416 Centre St. S. begin- ning at 8 p.m. There will be a cold buffett, bar privileges and antique door prizes. ONE PARENT FAMILIES The Oshawa chapter of the One Parent Familles Association of Canada meets every Tuesday at 8 p.m. in St. Andrew's United Chur- ch, 71 Simcoe St. S., Oshawa. HELP WANTED The Whitby Museum needs volunteers to act as tour guides for the upcoming summer season. No experience is necessary and training wyill be provided. For more information cail 668-4401. OPENING WEEKEND The Pickering Musuem Village will hold its opening weekend and steam-up days on June 8 and 9 from 12 noon to 5 p.m. The facility is a restored l9th century village including homes, barrns, a blacksmith shop, hotel, harness shop, church and hallali located on the banks of Duffin's Creek. There will be demon- strations of old streamn and gas engines, grain threshers, forging, wood splitting and other pioneer crafts. There will also be displays of early farm implements, pioneer clothing and 19th century homes and barns. The village site also boasts a large picnic ground, refreshments, arts and crafts and souvenirs. The Pickering Museum Village is located on Hwy. 7, three kilometres east of Brock Rd.
