Sennett Public School turned out last Friday afternoon to participate in the King St. S. school's first annual "Skip-a-thon" for the local branch of the Heart and Stroke Foundation. According to Rick Alston, a physical education teacher at the school and organizer of the event, the students were grouped into teams and skipped on a rotating basis for two hours. Each member of the team found bis own sponsors. Aiston estimates that about $3,00 was raised during the event. The Heart and Stroke Foundation gave each skipper a badge, button and a pair of running shoe laces. They also competed for prizes such as skipping ropes, t-shirts, gymn bags and track suits. Free Press Staff Photo Auxiliary president re-elected Teresa DeMaeyer has been re-elected president of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Whitby hranch (112) of the Royal Canadian Legion. DeMaeyer was namned to her second term at the auxiliary's annual meeting last week. Dorothy Ormiston president. The other members of the 1985-86 executive are: Marjory Adams, second vice- president; Vi Booroff, secretary; Arlene King, treasurer; Dorothy Mclvor, sports officer; and, Florence McFad- den, sergeant-at-arms, of directors were: Shirley Hicks, Myrtle Primeau, Jean King, Madeline, Tran, Alice Bradley and Marie Hicks.
