Half of tbe grade 12 classes attended Queen of the Aposties Renewal Centre in Mississauga on Jan. 7 and 8; tbe other baîf on Jan. 14 and 15. The 12's enjoyed the retreat saying tbat it was an interesting and inspirational experien- ce. .Graduation tickets are presently on sale for $16 single and $32 a couple. Sbe bas attended Hutcison Public Scbool, and has been Valedictorian of ber graduating year at Whitby Senior Public School. At Anderson, Kamal bas been active in intermurals and tbe be beld in June but tickets must be sold now ta facilitate preparations. The girls' volleyball teams are busy prac. tising for tbeir up- coming scbedule and future reports will detail resuits. This year, Kamal is a member of Anderson Students' Athletic Association, tbe Perfect Society, and is the Student Council representative for ber bomeroom. Kamal bas worked extremely bard for tbe Anderson Alum- ni Society tu icreate tbe imaginative decorations for this year's graduation ceremony. Kamal writes tbrougbt- provoking articles for the scbool newspaper "Tbe School Spirit", and is editor-in-cbief ai tbe Public Relations Committee. Heatber Needhamn bas lived in Witby for f ive years and formerly at- tended Witby Senior Public Scbool. Durini ber four years at Ander- son, Heatber bas been an important motivator in Anderson's suc- cessful fashion sbows, "Festivals de Mode". DIABETES WORKSHOPS Tbe Durbam Regian branch of tbe Canadian Diabetes Association wili be holding two diabetes workshops in tbe montb of January. On Jan. 24 Marlene Grass wil bold a blood testing workshop and a diet workshop will be held on Jan. 31. While in grade 11, Heather bas won the Best Actress Award for her fantastic perfor- mance in "The Sequined Glove", a play whicb bas been presented at Anderson's First An- nual Five-Minute, One- Act Play Festival. In grades 9 and 10, Heatber bas been on Anderson's Honor Roll. Heather bas also played on basket- bail and volleyball teams. This year Heatber bas started the Booster Club wbicb con- sists of a group of students who wear iden- tifying sweatsbirts and cbeer for schooi teams.
