I congratulate you as a journalist, who prizes freedom of speech, though and opinion. I agree that we must never allow any organization, political or religious, to succeed in any attempt to restrict our freedom. Have you noticed who it is that yells the most 'hate literature' (restricing our freedom of speech) for none dares call it truth. Some people's eyes are opened to the real threat of church and state, but when they raise their voice 'the institution' yells 'hate, hate'. By the way, Canada now has a 'doyen' in Ot- tawa, similar to Washington's pro- nuncio, (a big brother's eye in our diplomacy). You do well to be con- cered about these mat- ters. Politics is in itself a religion. Did you know that when the first English translation of the bible was completed by Wycliffe he wrote "The Bible is translated and shall make gover- nment of people, by people, for people." How can we attempt to govern nations when we have not learned how to govern ourselves. We've thrown away the handbook. If man does not govern himself accor- ding to the law of God, he will be ruled by tyrants. I must tell you that I have read your letter to several people who missed it in the press, and you made me very concerned, because I realize what a respon- siblity so-called Christian organizations have. Yes, some time they can cause more harm than good, because the way they go about it. I realize there are many more moral men and women, just as concerned about moral issues, and are easily put off of so-called religious do-gooders. But if we could ignore the names by which we identify ourselves with and contend with the issue at hand, recognizing the fact that those that are with us are also the ones that are not against us, and unite in purpose, not in identity, thereby becoming an organism, rather or as apposed to some organization. But do we not then need to know what the basics are? The Foundation? Could it not be that the pegs have been knocked out from under society. Hence the need for sub- stitutes. Hedonism, oc- cult, humanism, even demonology. Yes, I admit there is a need to study these 'Fundamentalists' like all pied pipers, but there is a greater need to discern those who would ensnare us much more subtly. Most of the fun- damentàlists are 'up- front' but the enemy of peace are those who put up a smoke-screen while they are boiling the frog alive. You probably heard that one. If you tried to boil a frog a live he would just jump out, but if you put him in warm water and gradually kept in- creasing the heat he would be boiled alive before he kwew it.
