Wl- Anders o nstudents will raise money for the Heart Foundation [IiTBY FREE PRESS, WEDNESDAY, MAY 30, 1984, PAGE 19 On Tuesday, May 22,, Anderson C.V.. beld Its, Jump Rope for Heart program. The purpose of this program is to raise money for the On- tario Heart Foundation as well as to provide good fitness activlty for ail participants. Unlike other typical fund-raising events, sucb as marathon- running, the basic reasoning behind the selection of rope- jumping for the purpose of fund-raising is tbat it is an activity tbat in- creases cardiovascular fitness. In short, it strengtbens and im- proves the condition of the important muscle in the body - the beart. Participants. in the event are required to collect money through. sponsors. Tbe, money then, of course, will go to the foundation. Par- ticipants will be divided in teams and each member wili tben take turns in jumping over a period of two hours. This type of rotation is to prevent the event from becoming too strenuous for the par- ticipants involved. Bugelli new DO'C president By LESLIE BUZMINSKI Denis O'Connor H.S.
