Theatre goers from Whitby and al of southern Durham Region have missed a great opportunity to see two fine young Canadian talents in ac- tion. Not only can Sandy Crawley act, comedy no less, but he can sing and play guitar as well. In "«Any Wednesday" Crawley portrays Cass Henderson, a man who finds love in another man 's mistress. He kept his audience in stitches. At the weekly Friday night Cabaret, Crawley got ut hîs guitar and sang more than a fine tune. Excçpt for those who took in "Any Wed- nesday" throughout its 1-week run, theatre and cabaret loyers from our town have missed something important, exciting and truly homegrown. She invoked the audien- ce's sympathy and a great sigh of relief could be heard when she finally found love. ,Then, of course, we corne to Larry Solway and Nuala FitzGerald. What can be said about them that hasn't been said before? They are the heart and soul of the Marigold. Their, per- formances, as always, were magnificant. But the issue at hand is not talent, which was seen last Friday night in abundance. The issue here is: "are there enough people of the tremendous natural resource that is here in Whitby?"' Theatre is a celebration of the human condition - it is a myopic look at our- selves. It has the ability to touch our spirit ' to make us laugh or sing or cry. 'Vfhtweare looking t isourselves. At issue here is not just the Marigold but the enitre Canadian theatre community.
