Until his recent death Irwin owned and operated Red Wing Orchards. He was also a member of the 420 Wing of the Royal Canadian Air Force Association which will be eelebrating the Oth anniversary of the founding of the R.C.A.F. with a variety of events later this year. Photo courtesy of 420 Wing R.C.A.F.A. There is another almost forboding reason why the Wing deeided to honor the 6th anniver- sary. "It may be the last time that we can get together a represen- tative group of original members of the force and those who served in the. Second World War may be a little too ar- thritic to raise a glass in a toast to the service by the time the 75th an- niversary roîls around. " The Wing is also trying to arrange for a fly past to be' held on April 1 led by members of the War Plan Heritage Club. These pilots will fly authentic war planes. Also on display will be a nose turret from -a Lancaster. These heavy bombers were manned primarily by Canadians during the latter stages of the war. Open throughout the week will be the Wing's museum which boasts many artifacts not only from the war but from the R.C.A.F.'s* early' history as well. More details about the events will be made known as the week draws nearer. MESHER ~JEWELLER Snors & Students S15% off with ths coupo L668-2872 109 Dunrdas St.W.
