W.I.S.C. earned 651 points to Oshawa's 529 and Port Hope's 116. Blazing the trial for the Whitby squad was Scott Donnelly who won four races in the boys 8/under category and Craig Potsep who swam away with five races in the boys l/under. A number of first year competitors gave strong performances wit.h hlgh scoring placements for the team, particularly Laura Mark in the l/under girls and Steward Smith in the 11/12 boys event. W.I.S.C. relay teams captured two first place finishes, six seconds and three thirds. In the girls 8/under category Peggy Hefford walked away with first place in the 50m freestyle and the 50m backstroke. Allison Bettridge took first place in the 100m backstroke in the girls lO/under category. In the boys 10/under, Craig Potsep was first in the 200m freestyle, the 100m backstroke, breastroke and fly as well as first in the Som freestyle. Heading up the girls 11/12 were Janice Currie for the 100m backstroke and fly and Julie Leswick in the 1OOm breastroke. First place went to Steward Smith in the 100m breastroke and to Scott Spencer in the 100 fly in the boys 11/12. Michelle Primeau was first in the 200m freestyle, the 100m backstroke, breastroke and fly in the girls 13/14. In the boys 13/14 category Trevor Crump was first in the 200m freestyle, the 100m backstroke and breastroke as well as the 50m. freestyle. W.I.S.C. will next compete in the Pickering Blue Doîphins' invitational meet on Feb. 4-5.
