A Christmas Eve service will be heldý in the church beginming at 8 p.m. On Dec. 18, the annual Sunday School Christmas party wil take place starting at 10 a.m. There will be carol singing, each class will present a program and special music is being provided by Sandra Lagerquist of Oshawa. There will be treats for the children and food for body as well as soul. MYRTLE DOINGS Myrtle United Church will hold their White Gift Sunday on Dec. 10 at the 10: 30 a.m. worship service. SCOUT AUXILIARY The next meeting of the 2nd Brooklin Beaver, Cub and Scout Ladies Auxiliary will be held on Jan. 4. It takes place in St. Thomas Anglican Church in Brooklin starting at 7:30 p.m. Ail mothers are in- vited to attend. AGRICULTURAL MEETING Tomorrow night, the annual general meeting of the Brooklin Agricultural Society will be held in the Community Centre on Cassels Road E. at 8 p.m. The agenda includes.an election of Directors, regular annual business, reports and amendnients to the constitution. PAPER DRIVE The monthly Cub and Scout paper drive is Dec. 10. Bundies must be securely tied and left at the curb by 9 a.m. Outlying areas and Ashburn residents may leave theirs at Ashburn Community Centre on Friday. Please do not drop thern off any earlier because of the potential fire hazard. BOTTLE DRIVE The cubs and scouts will appreciate your saving up all the bottles that seem to accumnulate so fast this time of year as tbey are planning a bottle drive for Jan. 7.1VII have more about this at a later date. CHRISTMAS DANCE Brooklin and District Kinsmen are holding a Christmas dance on Dec. 10 in Community Centre. Tickets are $5 per person and may be obtained at Brooklin Esso station. The Carriers had a long time establisbment in Scarborougn before relocating their business in Whitby at 122 Byron St. N. and together tbey bring over 38 years of experience in the salon business to the area. They have set up shop in an old Victorian style building originally constructed by Robert Perry in 1857. It bas taken the husband and wife tearn about, a year to convert the building into a salon whicb includes an English Tes Garden and old fashioned ceiling fans. At one point the building had been used as offices for doctors and lawyers then later changed to apsrtments. The hope is to have offices again, and David Stapleford bought the remainmng four houses whicb are being ren- novated now. He is keeping the original design of the bouses as it is a "Heritage Structure" under the Ontario Heritage Act.
