There were many bright, smiling faces, from both the young and the aid, as the parade, put on by the Whitby Jaycees, marched by without a flaw. There were 60 entries in the parade, including seven bands, floats, baton groups, clowns, and cars, which made their way through the central core of tien. Ail wenh very smoothly - even the weaherman co-operated by boasting clear, blue skis ai the nearfreezing mark. The parade, which began at 10:15, lasted precisely one hour. Wnners from this years six calegories in the Whitby Santa Claus Parade are: Beat Overali Entry, Oshawa Folk Council; Best Commercial Entry, Becker's Milk Co.; Best Private Fntry, Braoklin Spring Fair, Best Service Clu~b, Kiwanis Club for its Star Wars Float; Best Band, The Oshawa RebeLs; and Best Majorette Group, The Kinsmen Camaros. a-- F resta Preos Staff Photosi
