If the answer is -yes then Durham Region Lung Association may be able to help. Beginniing on Tuesday, October 18, the local Chrstmas Seal organîzation will hold a Better Breathing Cour- se for adults with respiratory disease, in the second floor Gym- nasium at Oshawa General Hospital, 24 Aima Street, Oshawa. Offered free of charge as a Christmas Seal service, the Course Will run for seven con- secutive sessions during a four week period, on Tuesdays and Thur- sdays from 12 noon to 1: 30 p.m. Course members will be taught breathing exercises, relaxation techniques and simple tolerance exercises. Medical professionals will be on hand throughout the Course to answer questions on medications, diet and the overal management of lung disease. Ail exercise procedures will be un- der the direction of a licensed physiothe- rapist. ThIs is a basic program, designed to give resplratory patien- ts an introduction to self-help techniques which, when applied, can improve the quality of day-to-day living. Plans for this year include the purchase of additional sound equipment and a musical-cultural ex- change wlth a high school from, the Maritimes. The Blke-a-thon wil begin at Anderson CVI. at 9 a.m., and followý a route through Whitby and Brooklin, finishing at Anderson, where the participants wiII be provlded with lunch to reward theni for their efforts.
