The parade, organized by the Whitby Jaycees, wll be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sep- tember 10 as one of the higbllghts of the Marigold Festival (Sept 8,9,10, 11). The Jaycees are looking for organizations, com- -panies, associations or individuals who would be interested in entering a float in the parade. Arrangements can be made, by calling Mr. Fox at 666-1867, or writing the Whitby Jaycees at P.O. Box 62, Whitby. The Jaycees are also orgizanizing the soap box derby on Sunday, Sep- tember il. The third an- nual derby, which Is sanctioned by the Canadian Soap Box Racing Association, begins at 7 a.m. and runs until 6 p.m. at the Provincial Court House on Rossland Road East. Fox says there could be up to 50 vehicles from across the Province en- tered in this year's soap box derby, as well as numnerous local entran- Cystie Fibrosis marches along The Durham Chapter of the Canadian Cystie Fibrosis 'Foundation will be marching in the Marigold Festival parade Saturday, Sept. 10, hoping to get some donations from parade- watchers. The Cystic Fibrosis Durham Chapter, which recently sponsored an apperance by television star Robert Urich in the Oshawa Centre, will begin faîl meetings on Sept. 19 in the program room of -the Whitby Public Library, at 8 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend. The event, presented by the Whitby Theatre Company. is a 40-minute Cabaret Show featuring both youth 'and adult members. In showing the suc-ý cessful growth of the Whitby Theatre Com- pany, this -special production wull consist of dancing and a medley of tunes previously per- formed. Fifteen to 20 mnembers of the Theatre Company are busy preparing for the ýevent, with reher- saIs every Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
