Without economlic controls, wlthout ripping apart the social prograqus tt mark Canada as a humane soclety, we Cainadians bave cut our inflation rate E- - - -- from 12 per cent to 5.4 per cent hi one year, a ten - year low. We cannot afford hi again enter the wage race as the economy goes inhi recovery. The price of such a move would be the recovery itseif, as Canadian goods lncreased in cost and priced themselves right out 0f the international markets we are dependent upon. To prevent this from happening the Minister of Finance will soon meet wlth bis provincial counter- parts hi, co-ordinate national and provincial actions.
