WHITBY WOMEN'S INSTITUTE The regular meeting of the Whitby Women's Insti- tute was held at the home of Grace Carr, 309 Dunlop St. E., onMay24. Plans were made for five members to attend the S4th annual meeting of Ontario S. Women's Instituté, which was held on May 25 in Myrtle United Churchî. After the meeting adjourned, a lovely lunch eon was served by hostesses,, Bessie Acton and Josephine Smith, and a social time was enjoyed by ail. ROBERT THORNTON PUBLIC SCHOOL The Cheas Club, under the supervision of Mr. Joe Thompson, placed firut at the Durham Schools Reglonal Chesa Tournament at Lord Elgin School.
