It was good te hear bis sense of humour and ail those Cana- dian expressions he acqulred during his stay in Whltby. Jose made a lot of friends here at the achool and it was a speclal treat te hear from hlm. Soccer Is the game in Brazil and DO'C too bas seen soccer action thispast week. Our senior girls played their flrst game of the season against East- dale in muddy, wet field conditions. They put forth great energy but were defeated 2-0. Congratulations to everyone who placed and good luck in LOSSA and COSSA. Our Outers' Club is also preparing for the annual canoe trip to Algonquin Park, which is its final ac- tivity of the year. After six gruellipg weeks of swimming they were finaily prepared to learn how te do canoe rescues. Upon completion of four sessions of rescue train- ing it wiil be time to go up north into the great out- doors. Hopefully this year the club wil be out before the black files. Anderson's athletie association bas been working bard te raise money for their annual Athietie Ban- quet. They had a dance Friday, April 8, featuring the great Rock & Roll Road Show which was quite an event in itself, but this wasn't good enougb for A.S.A.A. president, Michelle Barsketis. She went ail out in holding a silent auction during the week before the dance. There were over 45 items avail- able to be bid on, including sports shirts and equip- ment, dinner wlth the vice-principal, jeans, tickets to the opener at Mosport, pizza and mucb more.
