Roberts on April 7 and 8, featuring some 157 entnies prepared by 207 elementary and secondary students.. As in the past, the dis- plays reflected the stu- dents' keen interest in a wide range of topics - including computers. Paulo Penedo, a Grade 13 student at An- derson, prepared a pro- ject on computer file capabilities. iHe developed several pro- grams for, storing recipes and mailing list-' si as well as a computer dating program. The latter drew a very good response from, our stu- dents. In this program, Paulo entered the names and personality profiles of a number of boys. A girl, wishing a "match" filled- out a questionnaire. The in- formation was then fed into the computer which searched out and, pro- duced a list of 10 boys who might fit the com- patibility profile. Ob- viously "match- making"l is not a "dying art"!1 The Anderson Student Athletic Association hosted a Grade 2/3 class from South Simcoe Public School last mon- th. Continuing a: tradi- tion- which began several.years ago, the ASAA planned' and organized a day's acti.vi- tdes - including soccer, floor hockey, trampo- lime movements, and obstacle courses'as well as bowling at the Whitby .Lames. At the end of the day the young- students re- ceived a "blootbag". Judging by their letters the school received from the students, they had a very enjoyable day.
