Heart disease and stroke are stiil the na- tion's number one health enemy, and more funds are needed each year to help the thou- sands of people suffer- ing from heart disease. This year's Heart Month campaign in Whitby was kicked, off last week with an early donation by Wýhitby Chapter No. 248 Order of the Eastern Star. Ail proceeds from the campaign go toward re- search and treatment of heart disease. The Heart Foundation is dedicated to preventing heart disease, but this can oniy be done with donations by concerned citizens. So give to the Heart Foundation and help Save lives. Severe pain, d1zz1- ness, fainting, sweating. nausea or shortness of breath may also occur. Short, sharp, stabbing twinges of pain are usuaily not signais of a heart attack. "lJust knowing the warning signais wilI save many lives, because prompt emer- gency care can save many of the 35,000 who die before they reach the hospital.
