OSHAWA - The Durham Board of Education has approved the Sketch' plans for the long- awaited Otter Creek Public Sehool bringing the project one step dloser to completion. According to Jim Russell, the board's superintendent of plant, the school could be open for business in Septemn- ber, 1983 providing that the structure's roof is in place by October., However, if construc- tion is not begun- this fait, it will have to wait until next spring, Russell told the board at its meeting last week. The board had origin- ally hoped to have the $2.1 million'school open in September, 1984. Now the school is expected to be ready by January, 1984 at the latest. The 'Otter ,Creek facility was put on the board's priority list last year after parents in the subdi vision complained of overcrowded condi- tions at both E.A. Fair- man and Whitby Senior Public Schooi where their chiidren are currently bused.
