PLAY-A-THON The Henry Street High School Band will be holding a play-a-thon on Tuesday, February 2 from 2:30 to 10:30 p.m. as a fund raising event. SOUPER SOUPS The Kirk Guild of Burn's Presbyterian Church, Ashburn, will present "Souper Soups," a cooking demonstration by Betty Guatto. Demonstrated will be easy ways to prepare nutritious, delicious hot soups from cream of cauliflower to tomato- lentil and beef and barley. The demonstration will be held this Satur- day (January 30) from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon at the church. Cost is $4. Soup, beverage and dessert will be served and recipes will be available. Fruit Trifle (A sure hit at your next dinner party.) 2 small pkg. Jello Vanilla custard mix 1 large can fruit cocktail (double recipe) 1 pouch white cake mix ½ pint whipping cream Bake cake according to package directions. Drain fruit cocktail; use the juice to prepare jello. Let the jello set slightly while you prepare the custard ac- cording to directions. Break the cake into pieces and mix with drained fruit in large bowl. Spoon custard over cake mix- ture. Spoon Jello over top and chill in refrigerator until set.
