For 1982, Plymnouth Horizon lias new standard equlp- ment, expanded op- tional equipment choices, and refined engineering. There are three ap- peallng, Plymouth Hori- zon price classes for 19C2 - the extrernely fuel-efficient Horizon Mfiser, Horizon Custom, and a new premium Horizon 6"&E"yy-TIype Sedan with a European flavour. Plymouth Horizon bias a bold, new frontal Idlen- tification for 198, featuring a large Pen- tastar emblem mounted [n the centre of the flnely-textured grille. Ail 1982 Plymouth Horizon models bave new black wiper arms and blade retainers which enhance their ex- terior appearance. Engineering improve- ments include a linkless sway bar modfcation to tl front suspension for an even better ride and handllng. Several equlpment items bave been made standard on the higli- mileage Horizon Miser for 19m, including deluxe seat belta, remote left-band mirror, glove box lock, a day/nlght mirror, and briglit wheel hubs and nuts. Plymouth Horizon Misers with this drive- train sold in Canada are designed to operate on iower-cost, regular grade leaded fuels for added operating cost savings. A 1.7 litre four- cylinder engine with manual transaxle and equipped with a cata- lytic exhaust system is standard in the 198 Plymouth Horizon Custom. Chrysler's proven 2.2 litre four- cylinder engine with overhead camsbaft is optionally available in the Horizon Custom, as is a smooth-shifting Torqueflite automatic transmission. The 2.2 litre engine incorpor- ates intake manifold and valve refinements for 198, and bas a non- catalytic exhaust enabling it to operate on lower-priced regular grade leaded gasollne. Autornatic transmission is available as an op- tion. Previously optional equipment made stan-' dard in the Horizon Custom for 1982 include sport high-back cloth bucket seats, a colour- keyed sport steering wheel, cargo compart- ment carpeting and sound insulation, premium wheel covers and brigbt exterior or- namentation. The new seats bave contoured cushions for lmproved thigli and lumbar sup- port, and recliner latch- es for both driver and passenger. The handy redliner adjustments are in three-and-one- quarter-degree incre- ments. The excitlng Horizon "E"-Type Sedan bas a strong European look, with blacked-out mold- ings and an instrument panel rallye cluster wltb tachometer. As wlth the Custom model, the 2.2 litre engine is optionaily available wlth a 2.69 overali top gear ratio or, for improved perform- ance, an optional 3.13 overali top gear ratio.
