Darryl qualified with 'time' in aIl five of the "wheel speed" regional races held in Peterborough earring 2 seconds, 1 third, and 2 fourths in the 100 M, 20o M, 400 M, 800 Mand 1,500 M. Darryl is an outstanding 'wheel chair athiete', and we, in the Corridor are extremely proud of his accomplishments. He is a grade 12 student at An- derson Collegiate and resides with his parents at 98 Garrard Rd. in Whitby. He is also in the market for a new racing chair to further his athletie career. In order to purchase this chair he would like to seli his regular wheel chair. Anyone interested, please contact the Taylors. PAPER DRIVES This wilI be the last Corridor Paper drive for the summer. Please have papers bundled and by the road at 9 a.m. this Saturday for pick up. Otter Crrek area wilI also conduct a paper drive this Saturday. CORRIDOR RATEPAYERS ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Corridor Area Ratepayers Association was held recently at Dr. Robt. Thornton School. Sewing, knitting, crafts, or 'whathaveyou' wilI ahl be welcome. CORRIDOR CAPERS BALL The next Corridor Area 'Capers Bahl' will be held at Whitney Hall on Saturday, October 24. Keep the date in mind and reserve your tickets early. This is a smaller hall,, so the tickets will have to be on a first comne basis. Oshawa lady winer Grace James of Oshawa was the May winner of $1,500 for the Brooklin District Kinsmen Club "Trip of the Month Contest". Irene MacKenzie, of Beamsville and Brooklin resident Jeff Taber won. $120 in second and third prizes respectively. Ambulance Service During the week that ended at midnight last Thursday, the Whitby Ambulance Service. respon- ded to 117 calîs for service. According to co-owner Derek Pearce, the service responded to 41 routine calis and to 46 standby calîs for other ambulance services in Oshawa and Ajax. The service also responded to 30 emergency calîs.
