CARDIAC REH1ABILITATION The -.Cardiac Rehabilitation Organizations will hold its annual diner and dance on March 7 at the Heydenshore Pavilion. DAY OF PRAYER The Women's World Day of Prayer will be honored by the Whitby Baptist Church, 411 Gilbert Street East, on Friday, March 6 between 2 and 7:30 p.m. The theme for this year's service is "The earth is the Lord's" and was planned by American Indian women. The church will emphasize family participation in the evening session. Everyone welcome. BASEBALL REGISTRATION The Whitby Minor Baseball Association will be holding their annual registration for the 1981 season on March 7 and 14, from 10a.m. to1 p.m. All boys, aged 6-19 are eligible to register. SCIENCE FAIR Dunbarton High School's Sixth Annual Science Fair will be held on Tuesday, February 24th. It will be open to the public from 9 a.m . - 9 p.m., with coffee and refreshments being served. Any student in grade nine to thirteen may participate and there is expected to be over 200 entries. Awards will be given to the winners by the Student Activity Council. Winning students will go to the Durham Regional Science Fair which will be held on April 9-10, 1981. From there the winners will go to the Canada-Wide Science Fair in Waterloo, Ontario in May. NEWCOMERS The March general meeting of the Oshawa- Whitby Newcomers Club will be held on Tuesday, March 10th at 8 p.m. at Christ Church, Mary & Hillcroft St. The guest speaker will be Doreen Astrop from Infor- mation Oshawa. If the an- swer is "yes", then Durham Region Lung Association may be able to help. Beginning on Tuesday, March 24, the local Christ- mas Seal Association will run a better breathing cour- se for adults with respiratory disease, at Albert Street United Church, Oshawa. Offered free of charge as a Christmas Seal Service, it will run for eight consecutive sessions during a four-week period, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 9 p.m. Course members will be taught breathing exercises, relaxation techniques and simple tolerance exercises, and most sessions will feature guest speakers on various topics related to the management of respiratory disease. All exercise procedures will be under the direction of two qualified lung association staff. This is a basic program, which aims to provide respiratory patients with an introduction to simple self-help techniques which, when ap- plied, can improve the quality of day-to-day living. ART AUCTION The Piyah Chapter of Hadassah-Wizo of Oshawa will hold its fifth annual art auction on Sunday, May 3, 1981 in the Holiday Inn, Oshawa.
