SKATE-A-THON Ronald MacDonald's friends will join the Kinsmen Club of Whitby for this year's Kinsmen skate-a--thon on February 21. The loth annual skate-a- thon will be held at Iroquois Park Arena and aIl school aged children are invited to get sponsors and come out to skate. Proceeds from this year's skate-a-thon will go to aid Cystic Fibrosis Research, park development, minor sports and other local needs. Sponsor sheets can be ob- tained from the Royal Bank on Brock Street South in Whitby. SNOWFLAKE BALL The Volunteer Association of the Whitby Psychiatrie Hospital are sponsoring this years annual Snowflake Bahl, Saturday, February 21. Dress is semi-formnal. EXHIBITION Until March 1, the Whitby Arts Gallery is holding an exhibit featuring members of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolors. A selection of works representative of the society will be on view in the gallery. The gallery is located at the corner of Henry and Vic- toria Streets. Hours are from 12 noon to 5 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday to Thursday and from 12 noon to 5 p.m. on Fridays. The money raised fromn the event will be used to sponsor a tour of Wales by three teams made up of boys from both Whitby high school. BAKE SALE The Parents' Group of An- derson and Henry Street High Schools will hold a bake sale on February 21 between 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. in the Oshawa Shopping Centre. The proceeds will go towards a trip for the Ander- son-Henry rugby teams to Wales and England in Mar- ch. WHS MEETING The next meeting of the Whitby Historical Society will be held in the auditorium of the Fairview Lodge Home for the Aged on Februa ry 24 a t 8 p. m. The guest speaker will be Steve LaForest of the Cen- tral Lake Ontario Conser- vation Authority who will dis cuss his job at CLOCA. AUCTION SALE The parents of the mem- bers of the Port Perry High School Band will hold a giant auction sale and flea market on February 21, 1981 begin- ning at 10 a.m. at the high sehool.
