At its meeting last week, Wbitbv Town Council passed a recommendation that will advise the region's planning department that it bas no ob- jection to an amendment to the official plan in a section of town bordered by Tbickson Road North, tbe Osbawa-Whitby townline, Rossland and Taunton Roads. Tbe amendment will provide. for housing a population of about 9,000 as well as the 60-acre industrial section. Tbe proposai also cails for a new east-west arterial road for tbe area.
