There are ap- proximately 1600 people seen as out-patients in the Oshawa area. LeBoeuf estimates that there are ap- proximnately another 1400 people in the Oshawa area alone suffering from the painful condition. s As a volunteer in the organization Mr. leBoeuf feels his main function lies in the area of public education on the subject of arthritis. He distributes literature and information t0 anyone who asks for if, or who bas an interest in ar- thritis. As far as speaking engagements are concerned Mr. LeBoeuf said "We haven't had thaf type of request yet, but we're available if a particular group asks. We can even line up medical experts to speak on thesubject."1 Someday we ail hope a cure wifl be found, but for the meantime we must leave our hopes in the handa cf the scienfists, as research for the moment seumo ta be the major emphasis.
