Mrs. Morgan designed two bride's bouquets in'a futuris- tic and- modernistic style which won b er first prize, donated by Flor[-st Trans- world Delivery and, third prize dona ted by Flowers Canada. The first prize design was of blue,,flowers and grey leaves, with' tiny" mirrors projecting from the bouquet. Bik rie rise $5,00 On Saturday, May 5, the Ladies Great Bike for Cancer, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Whitby pro. duced about $5,500 for this worthy cause. The-grand prize winner of a bicycle, donated by Lasco Steel, was won by Joan Reid. Whitby Mayor Jim Gart- shore eut the ribbon to offi- cially start the second annual Bike Ride. Cancer Chairpersons Bill & Marion Irwin presented the bicycle to the lucky. winner of the draw. Kiwanian Jack Town, aIso known as, "Gloria of the WhitbyKiwanis" was once again in attendance in all his/her radiant glory.. Anderson Collegiate was the recipient of the $100 donation to the School Stu- dent Council as the student body produced more d ollars for Cancer than the other high schools. The' Kiwanis Club of Whitby -extend to the police, St. John Ambulance, 'prize donators and the press, their sincerest appreciation 'for the many considerations shown before and during this' orth event.
